Microsoft Fabric is a large-scale distributed analytics platform. On the OneLake Catalog team, I help build production experiences serving hundreds of thousands of users across complex data and metadata workflows.

Core Contributions

  • Build production software across product interfaces, APIs, and data workflows using React, Angular, TypeScript, Signals, and RxJS.
  • Design resilient data workflows with pagination, caching, retry strategies, and throttling mitigation.

Microsoft Fabric is a large-scale distributed analytics platform. My work supported experiences serving hundreds of thousands of users across complex metadata and data workflows.

Core Contributions

  • Built scalable frontend features using Angular (v19+), TypeScript, Angular Signals, and RxJS. Delivered performant, maintainable experiences for hundreds of thousands of users across critical Fabric subsystems including schema management, metadata visualization, and sub-artifact flows.
  • Engineered and optimized complex UI components, rewriting parts of legacy architecture to improve maintainability, readability, and system health while ensuring UI elements meet accessibility standards (A11y).
  • Designed resilient distributed data-fetching flows, implementing robust client-side mechanisms such as:
    • Multi-stage pagination
    • Throttling mitigation and adaptive request strategies
    • Retry logic with exponential backoff
    • Intelligent caching to reduce redundant API calls
    • State-driven workflow actions using centralized store patterns
  • These improvements reduced fetch errors, improved reliability, and created a smoother interaction model for large-scale metadata and schema operations.

API & Data Layer Work

  • Integrated deeply with internal Fabric APIs, synchronizing UI state with backend systems powering Lakehouse, Warehouse, and OneLake Catalog.
  • Collaborated with backend teams to diagnose issues, understand API shape, request flows, permissions, and schema propagation.
  • Used SQL, KQL, Fabric Notebooks, Pipelines, and Lakehouse tables to perform large-scale data validation, debug operational defects, analyze bottlenecks, and support investigation flows across distributed components.

Quality, Testing & Reliability

  • Own E2E automation using Playwright across multiple Fabric experiences.
  • Designed reliability scenarios, accessibility tests, and regression coverage to reduce operational noise and minimize customer-facing issues.
  • Participated in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical design reviews focusing on clarity, maintainability, and reliability.

AI Engineering & Productivity

  • Leveraged AI engineering tools (Copilot, Cline, Roo, Cursor-style agents) to accelerate development, reduce boilerplate, automate repetitive tasks, and improve iteration speed.
  • Proposed new internal workflows for optimizing development velocity, improving team-wide coding consistency, and reducing friction in iteration cycles.
